“Inside the Dome,” Told by Kemper (December 11, 2015)

Happy Friday!

This week we are flashing back to December, 2014!

  • On December 3, 2014, Southern Company announced it signed a memorandum of understanding with China’s largest power generation company, the China Huaneng Group. “This memorandum of understanding is another sign that this technology could be applicable around the world,” Mississippi Power CEO Ed Holland said. “Coal will continue to be a major factor in energy production worldwide for decades, and there is a tremendous amount of interest in producing cleaner energy.” In 2014, a number of international energy leaders and government officials toured the Kemper facility including representatives from China, Japan, Norway the United Kingdom and the United Nations.
  • On December 9, 2014, CCTV’s Sean Callebs published an article titled “‘Revolutionary’ coal company could help reduce greenhouse gases” in which he detailed his visit to the Kemper plant. The article stated “The Southern Company’s Kemper plant is unlike any other coal burning power plant in the world. Rather than spew so-called greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, the Kemper plant transforms coal into a gas.”

Have a good weekend!
