Clean, Smart Fossil Fuel? Of Course People Say No. Like They Said No to Computers.

Clean, Smart, Fossil Fuel Innovation at the Kemper Plant—Pressing Ahead Despite Naysayers

There were those who said computer technology would amount to nothing … and there were those who didn’t listen to them. Sound familiar?

Vision can be a challenge, even for the best and brightest minds. Like when, in 1943, the chairman of IBM Thomas Watson declared: “I think there is a world market for maybe five computers.” His quote is famous because more than 95 percent of U.S. households have some computer device in their household[1] with a total of 500 million devices that have access to the internet![2] Sadly Mississippi has it’s share of anti-innovators today, those who do not want the progress Mississippi Power is bringing forward with The Kemper Plant.

Despite criticism from some who lack vision about the future of global energy innovation, Mississippi Power is boldly leading the way with the Kemper Power Plant. They’re building the first clean coal plant in the United States.  Mississippi Power is innovating on behalf of all of us—combining power generation and new ways of reducing greenhouse emissions.
