Happy Friday!
Below are some highlights from the past week:
- On November 10th, Mississippi Power went before the Mississippi Public Service Commission, seeking permanent rate relief for assets in service for more than a year at the Kemper County energy facility. Mississippi Power and the Public Utilities Staff settled on a proposal to issue a 15% rate increase to recover costs for the power already being generated by the Kemper Project. The Public Service Commission has the final vote, and is expected to make a decision by 3 December.
- Mississippi Power has started to process Kemper Project refund checks for customers who requested this payment option in October. Mississippi Power said it’s working as fast as possible to process checks, which should be mailed by early next month.
- On November 11th it was Veterans Day! Did you know that 23% of new hires at Kemper have military experience?
- On November 12th volunteers from Kemper participated in food distribution event with Hands On Mississippi. What a success! Volunteers distributed 10 thousand pounds of food!!!
Have a good weekend!
